I went on opening day and got the veggie burger. My initial thought was that the burger was really over priced. their burgers start at $12 and it its an extra $1+ for other toppings. For the $12, I thought I was getting a combo, but nope; it was JUST the burger. A combo was an extra $5 for a small fry/side salad and a drink. I passed on the combo. The veggie burger was good, but all thier burgers come on brioche buns. I asked for whole wheat but they didnt have any. It's too over priced for what it is. Due to location, there are a lot of other things I could get for lunch that is less than $12. I am giving it a rating of poor only because the burger was so expensive. it wasnt worth $12. I wont be back.
You went to "The BACON Factory" and ordered a veggie burger?
Patcan1, you went to The BACON Factory and ordered a veggie burger? WTF?
Excellent ... I was in Ottawa a few weeks ago, I happened to drop-in to the Bacon Factory while travelling on O'Conner on-route to the 417. First, I stopped because of the great curb appeal ... the place caught my eye! Second, I am VERY glad I did stop in ... the food was awesome! (Salmon Burger) and the service and decor was just as good. Actually, I got to meet Tony & Robert, the owners & brothers! I highly recommend "The Bacon Factory" >> congrats to Tony & Robert on a great - burger emporium!
Utterly disappointing. Beef/lamb burger dry and bland. No lamb flavour. Bun so dry it broke in half. Onion rings frozen - indistinguishable from Burger Kings or Harvey's except twice as expensive. 8 small 2 inch rings for $4. Soggy coleslaw had ok flavour. Fries were excellent and plentiful. On the way out watched cook leaning heavily on flipper on grill squishing more patties to death. Pathetic.
Some people attend restaurants with their friends/family who are not vegetarians. Ordering a veggie burger while not forcing meatless meals on the rest of the group is what vegetarians do.
I understand that you want some good positive reviews on your site but you really shouldnt put some on yourself. But if you must, I suggest you not make it so obvious that its a self review. Decent food though.
So I go in and ask if they do take out, he says yes. I ask for a take out menu he says "we don't give out take out menus." Then I see the menu says "build your own poutine starting staring at $4.50. He rings it up at almost $7.00 and says that "any cheese or gravy is extra" I say "well poutine with no cheese or gravy (that is extra) is just a plate of fries" and he says "yeah you build your poutine starting with the cheese and gravy which costs extra" I laughed hysterically and left. UTTER FAIL.
I really like this place. The patties are a nice weight and texture, the brioche buns are light and hold the sauce well (I hate when some buns let it all drip out), and they're absolutely loaded with fresh toppings - the veggies are really fresh and crisp. I highly recommend the house sauce. First-timers should take advantage of the Monday combo deal, you can give it a try for less than you'd ordinarily pay.
